Kurdish MP: Justice Ministry issue to be resolved after KRG cabinet formation
Majid Shinkali, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) said all issues between Erbil and Baghdad will not be resolved without an agreement between the Kurdish parties on formation of the Kurdistan Region’s government.
“The Justice Ministry’s issue will not be solved without announcing the formation of the new government of Kurdistan,” Shinkali said.
“Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi left the political blocs to nominate whoever they want for the vacant ministries,” he said. “The blocs obtained 14 ministries in the cabinet without technocrats or anything related to what Abdul-Mahdi had set for selecting the ministries.”
Moreover, Shinkali indidated agreement between KDP and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) “over nominating a figure, with consensus, for the Justice Ministry. However, the agreement was suspended due to the recent conflicts between the Kurdish parties on the posts in Kurdistan.”
