Top US commander has warned against the presence of “tens of thousands” of ISIS fighters in Iraq and Syria.
"They are dispersed and disaggregated, but there is leadership, there are fighters there, there are facilitators there," Gen. Joseph Votel, commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), said.
"The President's orders are very clear to us. We understand exactly what he has directed," Votel said.
Last week, US President Donald Trump said the final defeat against ISIS could possibly be in a week.
The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are now leading the final phase of a battle against ISIS to liberate the last pockets, east Syria, near the Iraqi border.
