Abdolreza Davari, media
advisor to the former president, said that the Iranian authorities are spying
on former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and are recording his telephone calls.
In an interview with the Tehran-based Etemad newspaper on Monday, Davari said that all the telephone calls in Ahmadinejad's office are heard by the security authorities.
Ahmadinejad has earlier criticized the Iranian regime, saying that the situation in the country is "very bad." He also noted that the economic and other conditions were much better under the rule of Mohammad Reza Shah.
