Iraqi
Parliament Speaker Mohamed al-Halbousi extended greetings for Iraqi workers on
the occasion of the International Workers' Day on May 1, describing them as
"the basic pillar of construction."
We "call for continuous efforts for all the good and progress of our beloved country," Halbousi said, according to a statement by his office.
The parliament is seeking passing legislation that will
contribute to providing decent living for all workers and guarantee their
legitimate rights, Halbousi said.
