On September 24th, 2019, at the United Nations (UN) the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan proposed a safe zone in Rojava Kurdistan- East of the Euphrates River; the intention of this is not to establish a safe zone or security zone, the intention is to have an anti Kurd Zone and and an ethnic cleansing zone. “The UN was established after World War II with the aim of preventing future wars, succeeding the ineffective League of Nations. Pursuant to the charter, the organization’s objectives include maintaining international peace and security, protecting human rights, delivering humanitarian aid, promoting sustainable development, and upholding international law…” However, over the years too much realpolitik became involved with the international body, the UN appears to be slowly becoming defunct just like the League of Nations in the late 1930’s in the world order affairs.

The Turkish president didn’t shy away, he brazenly showed his ethnic cleansing map at the UN General Assembly address; east of the Euphrates River, Rojava Kurdistan was the most stable area in Syria, relative to the rest of Syria, where Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Turkmen and others have been living together in the autonomous region – Rojava Kurdistan. Now, Turkish President Erdogan desires to replace the relative peaceful area, with his jihadist terrorist gangs, just as he did in the Afrin region, with no fear of retribution or international backlash. The Turkish president claims he would return the Syrian refugees. It is against international law to forcefully return refugees, and it’s also a false claim; he will most likely return his jihadist terrorist gangs to the region just like what he’s pursuing in the Afrin region, the ethnic cleansing by way of his jihadist terrorist gangs. The Turkish President is pursuing a colonial expansionist policy, where he has placed his army garrisons in Iraq, in the Persian gulf, in Libya, and Sudan… Even interfering in the western hemisphere in Venezuela’s political affairs.

In the 1950’s Turkey joined NATO not out of desire or because they believed in NATO’s protocol; Turkey joined NATO out of necessity because during the cold war era, she could not stand alone economically, politically, and militarily against the Soviet Union. The International community must remember that Kurds were foot soldiers in fighting the nihilistic ISIS terrorists in both in Iraq and in Syria, until the physical Caliphate State was eliminated, while Turkish borders were gateways for jihadists all over the World to go to Syria and Iraq to build a Caliphate State. The International Community must stand firm against Erdogan’s vision of invasion of Rojava Kurdistan. The world of today cannot afford to go back to the medieval period, where the tribal system was the dominant ruling system in the Middle East and Europe.

They must impose economic sanctions on the Turkish state, or the peace loving people of the world must boycott Turkish products, including not flying with Turkish Airlines; just like the international community imposed sanctions in 1980’s on South Africa until the apartheid system was removed. President Donald Trump’s legal issues that are dogging his presidency are becoming destructive and are affecting his foreign policies around the globe. But pursuing an Isolationist policy will cause a long term curtail in American products exports, influence, and it will probably have an adverse economic effect. President Trump, on a diplomatic phone call with Turkish president Erdogan, made a decision to snap up US troops by withdrawal from strategic locations of the Middle East, specifically east of the Euphrates river in Syria.

It was a surprise to many experts including many of his expert advisors too (this is just a humble opinion, but there might be others who acted like Michael Flynn, Former National Security Advisor in President Trump’s administration, pro Turkey, who is convincing Trump to abandon the Kurds in Rojava Kurdistan-east of the Euphrates because the Russians, Iranians, and Turkey are all praying for the US to exit from this strategic location in the Middle East).

Somehow this quick abrupt US troop withdrawal from Syria is similar to what President Richard Nixon/President Ford administration and his secretary of state Henry Kissinger schemed with the Shah of Iran in the 1970’s against Iraqi Kurds, who were under general Mustafa Barzani’s leadership struggle. At that time, General Barzani did inform the Nixon/Ford administration that he didn’t trust the Shah of Iran, they verbally assured Barzani they were the grantors. Even though the Ba’athist government in Iraq didn’t have good intentions to resolve the Kurdish issue peacefully, but because there were some other avenues were available to General Barzani at that time, he could have avoided the war for the time being or perhaps Barzani probably would have reached some kind of understanding with the Ba’athist regime or extended negotiations further.

As for those who supported Turkish President Erdogan in the invasion of Rojava Kurdistan, such as Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, and Fresh US Congresswoman IIhan Omar, from Minnesota, who voted against economic sanctions against Turkey, if it’s for realpolitik it’s unfortunately understandable, but if it’s based on the Islamic religion value, then I will choose to withdraw from that kind of faith because no religion could condone this chauvinistic invasion. A suggestion for both IIhan Omar and Imran Khan is that they should both go to the hospital, and visit those children whose bodies were burned by chemical and phosphorus weapons in the Turkish bombardment on the defenceless cities and villages…

It must be a strong worldwide collective backlash against Turkey’s project, the invasion of the area east of the Euphrates River, otherwise it will just be like when British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, in September 1938, conceded Sudetenland, a part of Czechoslovakia, to Adolf Hitler, and then declared “peace for our time”…

If the UN, with the support of major powers, especially democratic states, do not follow certain norms and standards in the World order, then this anomaly will create more chaos than the international community expects, such as Turkish president Erdogan allowed to display his ethnic cleansing map of Rojava Kurdistan at the UN General Assembly address which followed with chaos & the innocent people of that area suffering…
