ANBAR, Iraq — The once mighty Tigris River that feeds into Mesopotamia is suffering unprecedented low water levels.The Tigris, or Dilja in Kurdish, begins in Turkey and flows through Kurdistan and into southern Iraq. In Anbar, people can even walk across the river in some areas.
