Head of Al-Nasr Coalition and former prime minister Haider al-Abadi has affirmed that an Iranian influence is being practiced over the formation of governments and officials, describing this as a “sad thing.”In a statement, Abadi said interventions in the Iraqi political scene existed due internal conflicts and prioritizing personal gains over public interests. He also called for a national unity, not against neighboring countries, but for the greater interests of Iraq.Abadi further warned to allow armed factions to have a role in the political scene or decision making, pointing out that this will lead to a conflict between these powers for their own interests. He also stressed that no armed factions, especially the Iranian Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS), should not be responsible for Iraq’s security.
