Iraq’s national security adviser, Barzani meet over security developments
President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Masoud Barzani has met with Iraq’s National Security Adviser Falih al-Fayyadh in Erbil to discuss the latest security developments in the country.
In a meeting on Friday, both Barzani and Fayyad tackled the political situation in the country, the war against ISIS as well as measures to eliminate terrorism in Iraq, Barzani’s press office said.
During the meeting, they also discussed the issue of the territories disputed by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the federal government of Iraq, in addition to possible ways to resolve their differences.
The statement also indicated “the coordination between Erbil and Baghdad in the security field” within efforts aiming at reaching a better future for the nation's people.
