Halbousi, Syrian amb. discuss boosting bilateral ties
Iraq's Parliament Speaker Mohamed al-Halbousi discussed on
Sunday with Syria’s Ambassador in Baghdad Sattam Jada’an al-Dandah means of
boosting bilateral relations between the two countries and issues of mutual
concern, Syrian Arab News Agency reported.
Iraq’s parliament said in a statement that the two sides
affirmed the need for securing the joint borders between Syria and Iraq and
opening crossings during the coming stage to facilitate transport movement and
support trade between the two states.
The Syrian Ambassador, for his part, stressed the importance of
enhancing the ties between both countries.
“The meeting comes within the common coordination between the
two states in order to realize a broader cooperation in the economic, political
and security domains,” Dandah told SANA correspondent in a press statement.
