ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Air defenses intercepted some Israeli missiles early on Saturday near Hama governorate, according to Syrian state TV, but some structures were damaged and three people reportedly were injured.

“The enemy missiles were dealt with and some of them were shot down before reaching their target, resulting in the damage of a few buildings and the injury of three fighters,” state-run SANA news agency reported

At approximately 2:30 a.m., Israeli planes flew over Lebanese airspace to strike "military positions" in Musayaf town in Syria's western Hama governorate, according to the outlet.

The Israeli military did not immediately confirm the events.

On Friday, United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jan Kubis met with a representative of Hezbollah.

“Glad to continue our dialogue with Ammar Moussawi of Hezbollah. Profound exchanges on the messages from the March Security Council meeting on #Resolution1701 as well as on regional issues,” he tweeted.

Moussawi, the head of Hezbollah's foreign affairs, said they are in constant talks with Damascus about the refugee situation.

“Kubis said that the United Nations has continuous communication with the Syrian government for the sake of inquiring about the situation and the opportunity for a safe and dignified return for the refugees,” read a statement from Moussawi, as reported by the Lebanon Daily Star.

Lebanon hosts around 1 million Syrian refugees, according to UNHCR statistics.

Through the eight-year Syrian conflict, Israel has targeted sites in Syria that it claims Iran is using to supply Hezbollah, forces backing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his Baath regime.

The UN estimates around 400,000 people have been killed during the Syrian conflict. Half of all Syrians have been displaced at one time or another during the conflict.
