U.S Allows Iraq To Continue Importing Iranian Energy; Japan To Provide $1 Billion Loan For Upgrades; Iraq Takes Over Mosul Dam Project From U.S./Italian Teams – On June 15, the U.S. granted Iraq a new 120-day waiver to allow Baghdad to continue importing gas and electricity from Iran. On June 16, Iraq and Japan signed an agreement for a $1 billion to upgrade the Basra oil refinery.
