Iraqi Sunni leader, Mohammed al-Halbousi, expressed his deep sorrow following the martyrdom of Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in a treacherous Israeli airstrike in Lebanon. In a statement posted on social media, al-Halbousi described Nasrallah as a "symbol of resistance, steadfastness, and Arab pride."
"We received the news of the martyrdom of the Arab leader and fighter, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, with hearts full of faith in God's will," al-Halbousi said. "He was a steadfast figure of resistance, embodying the strength and dignity of the Arab people."
Al-Halbousi offered prayers for the late leader and those who died alongside him, asking for God's mercy and for them to be granted the highest place in paradise. He concluded his statement with, "Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return."
