The MyAccount initiative launched by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has successfully registered 600,000 civil servants within less than a year, covering the provinces of Sulaimani, Erbil, and Duhok, according to an official statement released on Thursday. This milestone is part of the KRG’s broader plan to digitize and streamline salary payments for public sector employees, promoting financial inclusion across the region.

As part of the initiative, over 250 ATMs have been installed throughout the Kurdistan Region, with plans to expand this to 1,000 ATMs. The goal is to ensure that one million civil servants have their own bank accounts, providing secure and easy access to their salaries.

Developed by the Department of Information Technology (DIT) in compliance with the Central Bank of Iraq's Know-Your-Customer (KYC) standards, the MyAccount platform ensures a secure and efficient onboarding process for civil servants. The initiative is further supported by eight major banks, including BBAC, Cihan Bank, RT Bank, Bank of Baghdad, Iraqi Islamic Bank, National Bank of Iraq, Trade Bank of Iraq, and the International Development Bank.

The MyAccount initiative highlights the KRG's commitment to enhancing financial services for civil servants, ensuring greater convenience and security in accessing their salaries. This effort represents a significant step forward in the region's financial modernization.
