Shafaq News/ The IraqiCentral Bank's (CBI) sales of the US dollar surpassed $265 million in thecurrency auction on Monday.
According to anofficial statement by the Bank, the CBI sold $265,964,050 during today'sauction.
The Bank covered thesetransactions at a base exchange rate of 1,310 IQD per dollar for documentarycredits, international settlements of electronic cards, and foreign transfers,while the rate stood at 1,305 IQD per dollar for cash transactions.
Most dollar sales weredirected towards bolstering balances abroad in the form of transfers andcredits, amounting to $257,464,050, representing a 97% increase compared tocash sales, which amounted to $8,500,000.
One Bank purchasedcash dollars, while 16 fulfilled requests to bolster balances abroad.
The total number ofexchange and brokerage companies participating in the auctionwas14companies.
