Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Election Commission (IHEC) announced the preliminary results of the Kurdistan Region's parliamentary elections on Monday, noting that the voter turnout reached 72%, with 99.63% of the votes counted.
During a press conference, IHEC’s head, Judge Omar Ahmed, confirmed that the Kurdistan Parliament elections were conducted in a "secure and fair environment" and that the preliminary results are "not subject to appeal."
Results in Erbil
- Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP): 345,822 votes
- Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK): 110,353 votes
- Jil Jadeed (new generation) Movement: 103,684 votes
- Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU): 24,065 votes
- Kurdistan Justice Group: 20,191 votes
- National Position Movement: 16,736 votes
- People’s Front: 9,735 votes
- (Christian Quota) Rami Nouri Audish: 6,752 votes
- (Turkmen Quota) Muna Nabi Nader: 3,664 votes

- KDP: 400,603 votes
- Jil Jadeed Movement: 46,444 votes
- KIU: 42,447 votes

Results in Halabja:
- PUK: 12,530 votes
- KIU: 7,847 votes

- Kurdistan Justice Group: 4,382 votes
On Sunday evening, Shafaq News Agency obtained the initial vote count results, which indicated that the KDP is projected to secure more than 40 out of 100 seats, while the PUK is expected to win over 20 seats, and the Jil Jadeed Movement about 17 seats.
In Erbil, the KDP led with more than 253,000 votes, with close competition between the PUK and Jil Jadeed, each receiving around 80,000 votes.
In Duhok, the KDP also led with 270,000 votes, while the Jil Jadeed and KIU were neck and neck for second place with around 30,000 votes each.
In Al-Sulaymaniyah, the PUK garnered around 190,000 votes, the Jil Jadeed more than 110,000 votes, and the KDP over 45,000 votes.
In Halabja, the PUK received more than 9,000 votes, the KIU more than 6,000 votes, and the KDP more than 4,000 votes.
Voting for the sixth round of the Kurdistan Parliament elections commenced on Sunday following the completion of the special voting for military and security forces two days earlier.
A total of 1,091 candidates from both genders competed for 100 seats in the Kurdistan Parliament, five of which are reserved for minority groups. This number has been reduced from 11 seats following a decision by the Federal Supreme Court, Iraq's highest judicial authority.
