An Iraqi border guard was killed and another injured in confrontations against ISIS militants near a security checkpoint on the border between Iraq and Iran, a security source was quoted saying.
In remarks, the source said ISIS militants carried out an attack against a security checkpoint on the outskirts of Khanaqin region, northeast of Diyala.
Fierce clashes then broke out between the security forces and the ISIS militants, leaving a border guard dead and another wounded, the source added.
