Shafaq News/ 179 investment licenses were issued in 2024,which is nearing its end, the Chairman of the Investment Board in the KurdistanRegion, Mohammed Shukri, announced on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference attended by a Shafaq Newscorrespondent, Shukri stated that Erbil leads the region in the number oflicensed investment projects, with 71 projects worth $3,410,211,000. Theseprojects will be implemented over an area of 8,804 dunams.
“49 new factories were inaugurated this year, and theprocess of issuing licenses has become more efficient and faster. In addition,over 12,000 job opportunities were created this year as a result of grantinginvestment licenses,” he added.
The authority had previously announced that the year 2023, was"ideal for investment," revealing that licenses were granted for 151projects, creating nearly 10,000 job opportunities in the region.
