The 20th meeting of the executive committee of the e-government of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) started on Sunday under Oman to discuss electronic security at the Gulf and Arab levels.
Chief Executive Officer of the Omani Information Technology Authority (ITA) Salim al Ruzaiqi said that the two-day meeting aims at developing electronic services in the Gulf states.
The committee also aims at activating initiatives including the guiding strategy of the GCC member states and boosting the security information framework and joint electronic services, Ruzaiqi, who heads the Omani delegation, said.
The meeting will take up a number of initiatives presented by the GCC including an Omani initiative on promoting information security.
