A member of the Anbar Provincial Council said on Tuesday that the security forces managed to tighten their grip on the ISIS terrorist cells in the desert areas near the border with Syria, west of the province, pointing out that this pushed them out of their hideouts.
The suicide attacks by ISIS members, taking place in the western areas from time to time, reflect the state of despair and frustration experienced by the terrorist group, especially after the security procedures taken against its elements, the council’s Farhan al-Dulaimi said.
Iraq has declared victory over ISIS in 2017. However, several terror attacks have been taking place from time to time, in separate parts of the country. ISIS had claimed responsibility for more than 4,500 terrorist attacks worldwide in 2017 despite military operations, finally led to its demise
