Iraq's Foreign Ministry strongly denounced the deadly bomb attacks that hit Sri Lanka on Sunday, urging the international community to cooperate to eliminate terrorism.
"The Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemns in strongest terms the series of bombings in Sri Lanka, which targeted churches and hotels in Colombo, Negombo and Batticaloa during a religious ceremony to celebrate Easter," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry expressed Iraq's solidarity with the Sri Lankan people, affirming readiness to provide all what is required to remove the repercussions of the tragic terrorist attacks.
Earlier on Sunday, multiple explosions hit churches and hotels in Sri Lanka, killing more than 200 people and wounding 450 others, media reports quoted the Sri Lankan police as saying.
