Former Nineveh Governor Atheel al-Nujaifi has been seeking return to his old position again, an informed source said on Tuesday.
“Atheel al-Nujaifi, former governor of Nineveh, seeks returning back to the governor position through putting some of his affiliates in the temporary crisis cell,” the source said. “Five directors of his affiliates were appointed in the province.”
In 2015, the parliament voted for the dismissal of Nujafi, after his name was mentioned in a report on the downfall of Mosul to ISIS.
