ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A shop at a market in the Kurdistan Region’s Sulaimani province is attracting customers for its sale of Kurdish cultural embroidery bags and clothing.

Many female customers, in particular, across the Kurdistan Region visit the market to look for traditional Kurdish handbags, reviving demand for Kurdish cultural bags, clothing, and household items.

The “Hawza Wsihkaka,” or “Dry Pond” market, is known for its sale of cultural artifacts such as rugs, bags, and many common Kurdish goods with designs that date back over 50 years.

Lana Mohammed, a local buyer, said she is delighted the market sells handbags and other merchandise with traditional designs.

“These unique designs are beautiful and have a sense of Kurdish culture,” she told Kurdistan 24.

Mohammed added that the designs were fashionable for young people who are always looking for trendy products.
