A delegation from the Kurdish city of Urmia in Iran is due to visit Kurdistan Region's Haji Omaran Border Crossing on Sunday to meet with Erbil governor and the head of Soran Independent Administration to enhance bilateral trade volume, including through opening another border crossing in Soran.
Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw and Head of Soran Independent Administration Halgord Sheikh Najib are set to receive Urmia Governor Mohamed Sadiq at Haji Omaran Crossing today as part of bilateral endeavors to strengthen trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
They are said to be discussing trade at Kela Shin International Border Crossing in Sidakan area near the city of Soran. The two sides will also speak about opening another border crossing in Soran area to develop trade relations between the two neighbors.
The three officials will also review preparations for Iranian visitors who are expected to travel through Haji Omaran Border Crossing to visit the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karabala, which are home to some of the most sacred Shiite sites that draw hundreds of thousands of Shiite pilgrims every year.
