Iraqi President Latif Rashid, PM Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi, and President of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Faiq Zidan convened on Sunday to discuss the implementation of the budget law.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the meeting aimed to address the proper implementation of the Federal Budget Law, ensuring that spending priorities align with the government's programs. Leaders also scrutinized the allocation of resources, with a specific focus on both oil and non-oil expenditure entitlements.
During the meeting, officials emphasized the importance of following the provisions of the Federal General Budget Act in detail, particularly concerning oil and non-oil spending categories.
The presidents highlighted the significance of enacting laws that facilitate the coordination of government programs, emphasizing the need to advance vital bills such as the general amnesty, oil and gas laws, and the House of Representatives law.
Furthermore, the meeting underscored the urgency of addressing pending legislation, including the Iraqi Asset Recovery Law, empowerment of women, Drugs and Mental Defects Law, and various other draft laws sent to the House of Representatives.
