US troops deployment in Anbar permitted by govt.: Commander
Anbar Operations Command has said that the deployment of four US machinery in Fallujah city was permitted by the Iraqi federal government.
“US troops which deployed in districts of Jubail and al-Shuhadaa in Fallujah were upon an official permission to supervise the Iraqi security deployment in Anbar, at al-Habaniya base east if Ramadi specifically,” Maj. Gen. Saad Harbiya said on Saturday.
The deployment, according to Harbiya, was permitted by the Joint Operations Command (JOC).”
Anbar provincial council earlier said on Saturday that JOC approved the US troops movement in Fallujah.
A security source at Al Anbar Governorate has affirmed that a US force took a tour at the areas south of Fallujah.
He also added that the force got out of the area smoothly after finishing the tour.
