Kurds celebrate Newroz ahead of Turkish elections

Kurds in Amed (Diyarbakir) gathered on Thursday to celebrate the new year, Newroz.
Customary bonfires and party flags dotted the celebrations.
Turkey will hold provincial and municipal elections on March 31 and many of the celebrations were used to boost Kurdish party support.
