MP Ala Talabani, member of the Iraqi parliament’s foreign relations committee, has said the tripartite summit between Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi, Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II confirms that Iraq still plays a pivotal role in the region.

“Abdul-Mahdi’s visit to Egypt is of great importance on the bilateral ties level between Iraq and Egypt and on the Iraqi-Arab ties,” Talabani, who is a member of the delegation accompanying Abdul-Mahdi on his visit to Cairo, said in remarks.

“The keenness on linking Iraq with its Arab surrounding has already begun,” she added.
