Iraqi PM meets Lebanese parliament speaker
(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, March 31 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdulmahdi met on Sunday in Baghdad with Lebanon's Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and discussed how to boost the current cooperation between both nations in all fields.
The Iraqi Prime Minister said that his country have started to reclaim its role in the area, and continued to establish relationship with all its neighbors by overcoming their differences and exchange benefits, pointing out that Lebanon is a country with a huge influence on the world, a statement by the Iraqi government said.
Abdulmahdi welcomed Lebanese firms and businessmen to invest in Iraq, the statement added.
On his part, the Lebanese speaker stressed the strong relation that brings Iraq back to Arab fold, the statement said.
Lebanon's speaker of the house arrived earlier today on an official visit, where he was received at Baghdad's airport by First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Hassan Al-Kaabi. (end) ohh.mys
