Abd Al-Mahdi's visit to Egypt chance to establish strong ties: Hamoudi

of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Hamam Hamoudi said that Prime Minister Adil
Abd al-Mahdi's visit to Egypt was an opportunity to establish a strong
relationship and develop common interests between the two countries.
He
also stressed during his meeting on Monday with Egypt's Ambassador in Baghdad
Alaa Mousa the importance of translating these visits into practical steps.
Hamoudi
stressed the importance of the Egyptian presence in Iraq in the post-victory
phase, and the necessity to keep this presence to develop the relations between
the two countries.
Strengthening
the relations between Egypt and Iraq will also positively affect the stability
and development of the whole region, Hamoudi said, stressing Iraq's keenness to
build clear relations with its neighbors and countries of the region.
For
his part, Mousa revealed that important visits will soon take place to activate
the files agreed on by the countries and to build a real partnership.
