Authorities re-open Kirkuk-Erbil road after maintenance

Iraqi authorities has re-opened the Altun Kupri Bridge, the main pathway in Kirkuk connecting with Erbil, four days after it was closed for maintenance.
In remarks on Friday, a member of the maintenance said the closure was for three days, but the maintenance work took longer than the announced period.
The Iraqi government on Sunday announced the three-day closure for road repairs.
The road was previously closed for 10 months and opened in mid-August after a series of meetings between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the federal government of Iraq.
