Jordan's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced the transfer of crude oil from Iraq's Baiji to the oil refinery in Jordan's al-Zarqa, which weighs a half million ton.
The transference process is set to start within two weeks, according to the ministry.
Minister Hala Zawati said in a press statement that the announcement comes as part of the memorandum of understanding for processing of crude oil, signed between the government of the Jordan and Iraq in February.
According to the memorandum, Jordan would buy Iraqi crude oil from Kirkuk, to meet part of its annual needs, with maximum of 10,000 barrels per day. This constitutes 7% of the needs of the Kingdom.
