Members of parliament have expressed concern over what happened in the session of Nineveh provincial council, which resulted in selecting a governor who fulfills interests of some local and foreign political parties at the expense of the suffering province.

In a statement, Fallah al-Zaidan, Latif al-Warshan, Raad al-Dahlaki, Intisar al-Jabouri and Ghaidaa Kambash said “the priorities of the provinces which were recently freed from ISIS include reconstruction, the return of the displaced as well as reformation of local governments through excluding corrupts and whoever was involved in terrorism.”

Moreover, the members said “with deep concern, we followed on the session of Nineveh provincial council, which brought a governor who fulfills interests of local and foreign political parties.”

The members praised and supported step taken by the parliament speaker on reforming the Iraqi forces alliance.
