KRG Adds Dozens of Medical Staff to Halabja Health Department
Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday issued an executive order to contractually employ 130 medical professionals for the health department in Halabja province in an attempt to address staff shortages.
According to the decree, the General Directorate of Health in the city of Halabja will soon have an additional 100 contractual healthcare workers, with 30 other contractual medical professionals to join the medical staff at Byara hospital in Halabja province.
This cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has placed great importance to the development of the health sector in the Region, including by regularly employing essential stafff to meet growing demand for more healthcare professionals.
During the tenure of this KRG cabinet, the health sector in the Kurdistan Region has seen a significant upgrade in medical equipment, modern hospitals, and continued flow of high-quality medicines.
The government has also made healthcare for thalassemia patients free in public hospitals as part of government plans to enhance public access to free medicare.
